THE CHALLENGE
Rebuilding a Deteriorated Porch Safely
The existing porch had become worn and unsafe, with deteriorated framing affecting the floor, walls, and supporting structure. The homeowners wanted a more secure enclosed space, especially with children using the area near the front entrance.
The project also needed to remain practical for the family’s budget. Instead of replacing the entire roof, the plan required selective demolition, structural rebuilding, and careful reinforcement so the existing roof could remain in place.
THE SOLUTION
Rebuilding the Porch as an Enclosed Sunroom
WOW Construction removed the damaged porch framing and rebuilt the space with new structural support. The work included new floor joists, wall framing, stair framing, and reinforcement of the existing roof rafters.
By preserving the existing roof where practical, the project remained aligned with the homeowner’s budget while creating a stronger enclosed structure. New exterior walls, windows, and finish work transformed the former porch into a bright and usable sunroom.
